    Provider Spotlight: Louisa Stepien

SpaDerma West Loop Aesthetician, and Laser & Light Specialist

You can find Louisa at our SpaDerma West Loop location and on her Instagram page @Louisa__Spaderma or, if her Holiday Wish List comes true, you'll find her on a beach vacation! Here's what Louisa had to say about all things skincare and getting into the aesthetics industry.

SpaDerma: How long have you been interested in skincare and how long have you worked at SpaDerma?

Louisa Stepien: I always loved taking care of my skin, but really started experimenting with more medical grade skincare and understanding the science behind it in 2015. After learning more I decided to go back to school for my esthetics license in 2016.

I had always envisioned myself in a medical setting because I wanted to provide corrective skin care treatments and deliver what could be life changing results for people.

I’ve now been part of the SpaDerma family for 3 and a half years!

SD: What is your favorite treatment:

Louisa: Vi Peels are my favorite right now.

SD: What is a fun fact about yourself?

Louisa: I am an avid rollerblader!

SD: Any advice for a beginner to the industry or SpaDerma?

Louisa: Never stop learning! This is a forever-growing industry with new modalities and treatments constantly coming out. There’s always something new and exciting to learn about.

    SD: Favorite skincare products?

Louisa: Alpharet Peel Pads and Serum from SkinBetter

SD: Your AM + PM skincare routine?

Louisa:  I like to keep my routines simple. I have breakout prone skin and find the less is more approach works wonders for me.

    AM:

    • SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF with Ferulic Acid
    • PCA Skin Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Serum
    • Neocutis Bio Cream Firm
    • SkinBetter Tone Smart SPF

    PM:

    • SkinCeuticals Simply Clean Gel Cleanser
    • SkinBetter Alpharet Clearing Serum
    • SkinBetter Trio

SD: Any tips or advice for anyone starting out in aesthetics?

Louisa: Never give up no matter how long it takes to get to your dream job. I did not get hired in medical setting right when I graduated. It took a couple years of continuing education and persistence to get here! Good luck 🙂
