Wellness Wednesday - Ready For a Detox
Our resident health and wellness guru, Robyn Adams, has done it again. She has provided some food for thought and two perfect recipes to help detox your mind and body. Read below to learn how and why Robyn created these delicious detoxifying recipes.
Sometimes you just need a detox. Do you ever notice that when things get overwhelming you tend to switch into survival mode and pay less attention to what’s going on- or what’s going in, rather? Whether it’s what’s going on in the media or what's going in your mouth, sometimes you just need to hit the refresh button so you can feel alert and healthy again.
If you resonate with this feeling I want to encourage you to pick 3-5 days and plunge into a refreshing cleanse! Give this detox salad a try with the base of hearty kale and loads of nutritious and cleansing veggies (see recipe below). The homemade dressing aids the body’s detox process with it’s fresh ginger, garlic, lemon and liquid Aminos! This salad will last the whole week as the dressing tops then gradually marinates the greens along the way. Spruce it up each day with new added treats such as avocado, chickpeas, dried fruit, nuts or boiled farm fresh eggs.
This salad is filled with antioxidants and nutrients that boost health and detoxification in the body! From the anti-inflammatory properties of the ginger to the chlorophyll antioxidants in the parsley to the colon cleansing properties in broccoli and kale. This salad creates the perfect combination to give you the refresh you need for a lighter, newly refreshed you!
Note: the initial ingredients are specifically chosen so the salad will last all week. The dressing can be added on the first day without worry as the detox salad transforms into a marinated version as the week progresses. The additional ingredients listed are ideas for adding throughout the week to change up the flavors.
